In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Swarovski Optik, a renowned sports optics manufacturer, has unveiled a groundbreaking product that fuses cutting-edge technology with traditional optics – the AX Visio. Launched at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, the AX Visio isn’t just an ordinary pair of binoculars; it represents the world’s first AI-supported binoculars designed to revolutionize the way we observe and engage with nature.
The AX Visio 10×32 introduces a new dimension to nature experiences by combining intelligent technology with high-precision optics. With real-time identification capabilities for over 9,000 birds and wildlife species, these binoculars are a game-changer for ornithologists and nature enthusiasts alike.
Equipped with an integrated camera, the AX Visio captures high-resolution photos and videos, seamlessly managed and shared through the Swarovski Optik Outdoor App. A noteworthy addition is the “Share discoveries” feature, allowing users to guide friends to observed objects using arrow markers displayed on the binoculars.
The AX Visio, a result of five years of development and construction, comprises approximately 390 hardware parts. At its core lies an integrated operating and object-recognition system, driven by a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for rapid information processing. This ensures real-time identification and enhances the overall user experience.
Manufactured with a high degree of vertical integration at the main site in Absam, Austria, the AX Visio embodies Swarovski Optik’s 75 years of expertise in high-precision sport optics. The integration of digital intelligence positions the AX Visio as a flagship project, symbolizing Swarovski Optik’s technological leadership and marking the beginning of a new era in nature observation.
With 10x magnification, a 32-millimeter objective lens, and a field of view of 112 meters per 1000 meters, the AX Visio not only excels in image recognition but also delivers an unparalleled visual experience for users.
